Village Officials

The Village of Canisteo Board of Trustee's consists of 5 elected positions. The Mayor and four Trustees are elected during the Villages Elections every two years. Each board member is appointed by the Mayor to be a liaison for a Village department. As a liaison, they support the department supervisor and are available to assist the supervisor when necessary. The Mayor is the chief executive officer of the Village of Canisteo and supervisor of all Departments within the Village. The Board of Trustees is the legislative body of the Village and manages all finances, local laws and property  consistent with the laws of the State of New York and Constitution of the United States. 

The Board of Trustees holds their regular board meetings the second Tuesday of every month at 7PM. The meeting is located at Village Hall, 8 Green St. Canisteo, NY 14823 and all members of the public are welcome to attend. The meetings consist of old business, financial and department updates, correspondence, status updates of projects and new business.
