In light of further recent developments in the coronavirus public health emergency in New York State, please be advised that the case(s) which you have pending in this court are adjourned indefinitely.  We are tentatively aiming for a date in May, however, that may change as things unfold.  If you have an attorney, he/she will be informed of the status of your case and any future court date(s) will be sent to him/her.  IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, to keep in touch with your attorney.  Please wait until after May 1, 2020 to contact him/her.
If you have a non-criminal Vehicle Traffic Ticket, you may plead by mail.  On the right-hand side of the ticket are two sections, one for guilty and one for not guilty.  If the ticket has points associated with it, you may choose to plead not guilty and apply through the District Attorney’s Office for a possible reduction.  If you plead guilty you will receive a fine notice with the corresponding fine and state mandated surcharge.  If there are points, then those will be attached to your NYS drivers record by the DMV.  If you have a fix-it ticket and get it fixed, then just have an officer or mechanic sign off on the ticket and mail it back to the court.  You also have a right to a bench trial with the officer. In this case, you may leave a message to that effect and someone will call you once we are able to schedule trials.
If a quarantine is invoked, there may not be anyone able to get to the court until it is lifted.  Please, be patient and let us all work together to get through this uncertain time. These restrictions are not convenient for any of us but rest assured that we will do our best to resolve any issues that arise.
